(This phase translates the program into preliminary concepts)
- Acquire insurance counsel’s recommendation for:
- Liability and fire insurance limit.
- Building systems and material sspecifications
- Building location and zoning codes
- Fire protection, security, fire sprinklers, etc
- Actively participate with team to develop several alternative preliminary designs.
- Meet with building department to gain assurance of support and inform them of scope of project
- Review with governing body (diocese for liturgical and/or financial approval.
- Review conceptual drawings with congregation
- Select and approve one design alternative and authorize team to proceed
- Further develop complete schematic documents
- Update project schedule and budget and cost estimate
- Coordinate project with city building official
